Tabanan Sarong Dress - Miranda A.

This summer I had planned a trip to the sunny Okanagan. My friends told me that if I had a cool loose fitting dress to bring it along. I had recently received the Bali Collection pattern no. 104 Tabanan Sarong Dress so I decided I had better quickly make it up for the trip. I had chosen the gorgeous Rayon Teal-Purple Falling Leaves with the contrasting Teal-Purple Tanglewood fabric. I found this pattern very easy to follow and the fabric a dream to sew with. I had prewashed and dried the fabric and I did not even have to iron it. This new rayon is a far improvement on the rayon of years ago. For the sarong attachment I used Velcro instead of the buttons, which worked out well. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received each time I wore the dress. I loved wearing it and it was so cool and refreshing to wear. The sarong is such a fun addition as you can wear it over one shoulder or both. I had to bite my tongue not to offer to make one up for each person who had complimented me!
